Texas Medical Association CME Courses
The professional association for physicians in Texas offers various courses through the Continuing Medical Education Department. TexMed is the annual conference and provides over 120 free hours of CME. Other CME opportunities are available through the web site.
UTMB and UT Medical School at Houston CME Web site
UTcme is a collaborative program of the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston and the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. With offices in Houston and Galveston, UTcme is one of the largest providers of continuing medical education in Texas.
UTMB CME Modules
The Office of Regional Medical Education has begun to develop informational presentations called “Modules” on topics in medical education which we hope you, as a community-based physician educating UTMB medical students, will find useful in your teaching activities. The modules that are currently available for you to utilize are approved for up to two AMA PRA Category 1 Credits TM.
National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA)
Based on the NIAAA Clinician's Guide, the online program features four 10-minute video case scenarios, each led by an expert clinician who offers insights and engages viewers in considering different strategies for treatment and follow-up. Continuing education credit for physicians and nurses who use the training program will be provided through www.Medscape.com.
