Every community in Texas deserves access to proper healthcare services. Texas AHEC East - Capital Region is committed to assisting communities within our region gain the services and professionals needed to accomplish this goal.

Our Practice Entry and Support program is designed to:

AHEC Recruitment and Retention Community (ARRC) Model
Every community should have a plan to recruit and retain the healthcare professionals and services they need. Texas AHEC East - Capital Region follows the ARRC model to achieve this goal.

Determine County HPSA/MUA Designations
Learn about HPSA and MUA designations for your county and how these designations can help you qualify for funding assistance for your community.

Teachers/Counselors
Your school districts should be involved with your long range healthcare goals. Our Health Careers Promotion program area specializes in teaching K-12 students about the different careers available in the healthcare industry. We help you identify current students in your community that have interest in healthcare careers. Our H.O.T. Jobs website, Nursing Academies and Summer Camps are intended to help you "grow your own" healthcare professionals.

Texas Health Match
A free statewide employment database for Texas healthcare employers and jobseekers. If you are a healthcare entity in the state of Texas, you can use this website to post for any position you need. Individuals seeking a healthcare job in Texas may post their resume and/or CV. The website will match jobseekers to employers and email both parties. The web address is www.texashealthmatch.com.

Ventanilla de Salud
The Ventanilla de Salud is a health outreach program targeting underserved Latino families with preventative health resources.  We partner with more than twenty city, county and community health and social service agencies to provide referrals, health education, and on-site health services. Services available to those in need include HIV testing, blood pressure screenings, blood glucose screenings and vision testing.
