Healthcare Professionals

Capital AHEC has a program area dedicated to serving the needs of physicians and allied health practitioners in the greater Austin area.  Through our Community Based Education Program (CBE) physicians donate their time to teach medical students and residents about different disciplines and real life out-patient experiences.  For their service physicians receive non-monetary benefits such as category II CME and University level appointments.

Through the Capital AHEC Practice Entry and Support Program (PE&S) we strive to establish and maintain initiatives that recruit and retain health professionals for underserved populations throughout central Texas.  Staff members are committed to providing resources for various levels of health professionals, developing programming that is responsive to the continuing education needs of practicing health professionals in the area.

Capital AHEC has a vast array of resources available at your fingertips to help you discover the preceptor in you and find volunteer opportunities available in the Austin area.
