Community Preceptors

Texas AHEC East - Capital Region utilizes the talents of community preceptors, or instructors, within our 8 county region to enhance the educational experience of healthcare profession students.

Community preceptors are experienced healthcare professionals who provide support and guidance to students during out-patient clinical experiences.

Texas AHEC East - Capital Region preceptors have a strong commitment to teaching and a willingness to share their time, office and patients with students.

This one-on-one relationship provides students with invaluable experiences such as a greater understanding of patient care and the daily operations of a medical practice. Also, with so many medical disciplines to choose from, it is important for students to have the opportunity to explore different specialties in order to determine which career path is right for them.

Community preceptors fill this vital role by volunteering to teach our future healthcare providers.
