Southern Nursing Academy

This year’s Southern Nursing Academy was held in San Marcos.  All students who attended high school at ISDs including Lockhart, Lulling Prairie Lea, Hays, San Marcos, and Nixon-Smiley were eligible to attend.  Students were selected for the academy based on their application and interest in nursing.  Teachers and other administrators were welcome to attend the academy.

During the Nursing Academy students learn the different career pathways in nursing, hear from nurse professionals, and gain hands on experiences during the nurse simulations.  The academy was from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm on Friday, December 9, 2011.  The Nursing Academy is free for all students and lunch is provided.
