UTMB Third Year Internal Medicine Clerkship (outpatient portion)

Every third year medical student at UTMB is required to take the Internal Medicine Clerkship. Texas AHEC East - Capital Region places approximately 50 UTMB third year medical students each year for this course. The entire course is 12 weeks. The inpatient portion is eight weeks (at Brackenridge Hospital), and the outpatient portion is four weeks (with a volunteer preceptor).

Preceptor Qualifications
MD or DO; Must be an Internist (generalist); board certified and current license to practice in Texas

Preceptor commitment per student
4.5 days each week for 4 weeks
