UTMB Third Year Pediatric Clerkship (outpatient portion)
Every third year medical student at UTMB is required to take the Pediatric Clerkship. Texas AHEC East - Capital Region places more than 70 UTMB third year medical students each year for this course. The entire course is eight weeks. The inpatient portion is four weeks (at Dell Children's Hospital), the nursery portion is one week (at Brackenridge Hospital), and the outpatient portion is three weeks (with a volunteer preceptor).
Preceptor Qualifications
MD or DO; Must be a Pediatrician (generalist); board certified and current license to practice in Texas
Preceptor commitment per student
4.5 days each week for 3 weeks

Period 12: 05/27/13 - 06/21/13
The dates above are four week periods, but the student will only be at the preceptor's location for three of those four weeks. The student will spend one of those four weeks at Brackenridge Hospital completing their nursery requirement. The nursery week is always the first or third week of each period.
