Western Nursing Academy

This year’s Western Nursing Academy was held in Fredericksburg.  All students who attend high school at ISDs including Blanco, Johnson City, Fredericksburg, Wimberley, Dripping Springs and Harper were eligible to attend.  Student were selected for the academy based on their application and interest in nursing.  Teachers and other administrators are always welcome to attend the academy.

During the Nursing Academy students learned the different career pathways in nursing, heard from nurse professionals, and gained hands on experiences during the nurse simulations.  The academy was from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm on Friday, October 14, 2011.  The Nursing Academy was free for all students and lunch was be provided.
